Exhibition in virtual reality

A VIP reception showing the work of Sacha Goldberger

The use of virtual reality for communication represents a challenge.

The art of immersive storytelling ingeniously focuses the viewer’s attention on the point of interest, while still allowing them to enjoy the freedom of examining the 360-degree environment.

The City of Paris organized an exposition of the photographs of Sacha Goldberger in June 2018. The goal of this 360-degree institutional film was to excite the public at large to come visit locations in City Hall where the photos were being exhibited.

The scope of this film gathers footage in 360-degree video of selected moments of speeches, performances, and private showings. The 3D recording immerses the spectator in the effervescence of this unique moment dedicated to the presentation of the artist’s work.

The City of Paris presents an exposition on virtual reality.

The virtual reality and filmed sequences alternate, revealing a virtual gallery of Goldberger’s photographs, accompanied by texts written by the curator.

This 360-degree video illustrates the narrative possibilities specific to virtual reality, which include creating bridges between the real world and virtual universes. It fills the gulf between the worlds of the viewer and their headset, the event filmed in 360 degrees, and the constructed postproduction reality created about the gallery.

The film can be disseminated through all forms of social media: Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, and via VR headsets such as HTC Live, Oculus Rift, VR Gear, and Google cardboard.
